my only friend...
...until the end (the music). OK, so I've listened to it ever since I was in the Invisible High; college came, & in the City of Night my predilection for God was replaced by a different high, coming off a psychosis which shattered my faith: hollow & empty, like Jesus' tomb.
But it sure made listening to music more fun; I entered a door in my mind & encountered fear & loathing (something I have to update for my web page, including an ad for my book).
A few years back, when Biggie was still a somewhat normal person, minus the paranoia (thank the skinny dog for that), he bought me a Panasonic keyboard. For years, it languished in the corner, by the left rear speaker. Then, I bought a song-book of the Doors; yet it continued to repose unused. After awhile, I learned Blue Sunday, but for the last few days worked on Crystal Ship. Next will be Light My Fire.
The main thing holding me back has been my lackluster sense of rhythm. However, by kicking the rhythm generator in, I've gained considerably in that respect. Now I feel kool & konfident. I love to play with the device. Among my favorite sound settings is a sitar with country harmony being accompanied by reggae rhythms. Maybe a bossa nova beat will really do Light My Fire some justice, as the film quotes John Densmore as having said.
Other than that, the 2 of us are doing fine, apart from what can be expected for the swinging lifestyle Trish wants us to become involved with -- & that's problematic for a lot of reasons, but one thing's for sure, with Hot or Not contacts scattered around the world, there's little actual possibility of Trish ever becoming Leery again, & since she hates Kim so much now, why is she suddenly so interested now, albeit she does like to look at women's boobs?
Then there's the whole issue of me FTPing for awhile, rather than jumping straight into Noc-Lar. I would've finished rewriting my web page long ago, until sickness, both mental & physical (flu) kept my mind from going where it should have gone. Once I've finished this project -- including my page on Muhammad Ali (next door neighbor: he's like the only DJ you can hear after 3:00). Once I've cleared up the web pages, it's going to be, as Rabbit-fuck put it, "Fantasy, fantasy, fantasy! He's probably in there right now, having his nervous breakdown & writing to VADIS about it". Yeah, I did tend to like the girl, not because of her titanic tits, but because I wanted one person to confide in -- & from there, it was twisted into hatred; Bozo with the bottle.
Yes, I'm finally wound up planning to do a genre fantasy -- sword & sorcery with non-Dalglish alchemy ("it's just a part of their worlds;" "you can have your universal solvent"). I've picked that sub-genre as a starting point, as it seems to resemble what's already there. Doing a few pieces for Critters might help, & might increase my odds on the DR-scene.
So today, it's mostly just going out for salad at Pizza Hut with Car-girl. I'm not yet ready to start another draft of Noc-Lar, so I'll delay it until all the web pages are caught up with.
Then comes vacation! Fear & loathing in Elko, all right!
